The Journey to the Final Clip.

The My Wish clip was my main focus. I have been wanting to write it down for awhile now but never seemed to have found the time. I started very low tech with paper and a pencil using a variety of tools through out the process. Once the script was written and I received feedback from some friends , it was time to take the pictures. Below are a few of the tools and resources.

Before I went out for a photo walk, I brainstormed some different ideas. Some concepts were easier like IMAGINE, while others were difficult. Did you know it is hard ot find a question mark around the city? After about a total of 10 hours of wandering, I went through past pictures to see what could fit. I really wanted to use my own images. I often will take pictures of landscapes and family but I always feel silly in Toronto or stagging items. There were a few last items I needed to ask for the help of others: the class picture and teacher selfie.

The experience forced me to explore a new subject. So much more to learn though. I am hoping to explore some more ideas from my pinterest page on photography.

You can see the images in the flickr album to the right. They are all creative commons, which means you can use them and remix them if you like, you just have to attribute.

I didn't feel the image was enough so I brought the images into canva, a free online graphic design tool, because I knew I could quickly add a transparent layer with the text and then save them as an image once again.

I wanted to try something different so I went on the hunt for a new app. Videohance stood out. It allows you to add filters, gradients, light beams onto your images or video and publish as a clip. The team is very helpful and was quick to reply on twitter when I had a few questions. After finally completing the clip in videohance, I decided to re-do the clip in iMovie. I wasn't happy with some of the tone of the images I had chosen. If you do want to see the videohance clip you can find it on the MY WISH page.
